Not medical advice
GestPlate provides general educational information and food ideas for people managing gestational diabetes. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The content — including AI-generated food suggestions — is for informational and educational purposes only. Always seek the advice of your OB-GYN, endocrinologist, midwife, registered dietitian, or other qualified health provider with any questions about your health, your pregnancy, or your diet. Never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of something you read here.
Your body is unique
Blood glucose responses to the same food vary from person to person and even at different times of day. GestPlate's suggestions are general ideas, not a personalized meal plan, and are not a substitute for the individualized plan provided by your registered dietitian or care team. Do not use GestPlate to make decisions about insulin, other medications, or your target blood-glucose numbers — those decisions belong to you and your care team. Always confirm carbohydrate amounts and portions yourself, and check how your own readings respond.
Pregnancy safety
GestPlate tries to avoid suggesting foods commonly considered unsafe in pregnancy (such as high-mercury fish; raw or undercooked fish, meat, or eggs; unpasteurized dairy or juice; deli meats unless steaming hot; raw sprouts; and alcohol) and reflects the general guidance to limit caffeine to under 200 mg/day. However, food safety guidance changes and no automated tool is perfect. Always verify any food's safety with your own care team, and follow their instructions over anything in this app.
This app is not for emergencies
If you experience a severe or persistent headache, changes in vision, difficulty breathing, severe upper-abdominal pain, sudden swelling, signs of very high or very low blood sugar (such as confusion, shakiness, fainting, or persistent readings well outside your target range), reduced fetal movement, or any symptom that worries you, call your health provider or your local emergency number immediately. Do not use GestPlate to diagnose or manage a medical emergency.
About AI-generated content
Food suggestions in GestPlate are generated by an artificial-intelligence system and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation. Nutrition figures are estimates and can differ from the actual food you prepare or buy. Always use your own judgment and your care team's guidance. Do not rely on AI-generated content as your sole source of health or nutrition information. See our AI Disclosure for more.
